Welcome to The Roehampton Trust
On the 7 October 2010 at Whitelands College, Roehampton University the idea of a Roehampton Trust was launched. Led by local people and organisations, the aims are to:
- Encourage the creativity, activity and involvement of those who live in Roehampton, London SW15, to make it a better place to live and work
- Encourage pride, spirit and a stronger sense of community
Tracy Edwards MBE, who lives locally, has agreed to be the patron and actively involved. In 1990 and 1998, Tracy skippered all female crews in round the world yacht races. Her determination, experience and skills will be great assets.
Roehampton Trust is a Company Limited by Guarantee and is applying for charitable status. It is starting to seek funds from funders and individuals.
Initial focus is on:
- Activities - encouraging the organisation of and involvement in sports, arts and home skills
- Business - improving employment opportunities and street activity
- Community –supporting a Roehampton Festival in Summer 2011
- Communications – ensuring everyone knows what is happening in Roehampton
The Trust wants to be a catalyst; to see action rather than talk. Local residents are needed to make this work – if you are interested please make contact:
